  • Research Theme: Research topics cover various urban, transportation, energy, environment, tourism, and health aspects, especially focusing on the development of methodologies (e.g., surveys, modeling, policy evaluation and planning) and applications of the methodologies in both developed and developing countries based on interdisciplinary approaches. Lectures include “Regional and Urban Engineering” and “Tourism Policy” and so on.

Focusing on the various issues related to city, transportation, energy, environment, tourism, and health, he has published more than 430 refereed academic papers (SCI/SSCI papers: 87) and 4 English books about the development of methodologies (e.g., surveys, modeling, policy evaluation and planning) and applications of the methodologies from the interdisciplinary perspective. He was awarded as Best Paper Awards (8) or Outstanding Paper Awards (3) for 11 times by international/domestic associations/conferences. Major research contents include, but not limited to, traffic safety, cross-sectoral decision support methodology for urban planning and management based on life-oriented approach (including travel behavior analysis), integrated urban and transportation models, sustainable urban and transportation studies in both developed and developing countries, and integrated tourist behavior models for tourism policy.
